Xavier Mauméjean won the renowned Gerardmer Award in 2000 for his critically-acclaimed psychological thriller The Memoirs of the Elephant Man. Mauméjean's other works include Gotham, another thriller, and The League of Heroes, a steampunk novel which won the 2003 Imaginaire Award of the City of Brussels. Mauméjean is also the author of several short stories and four radio plays, and won the 2005 Rosny Award for his latest novel La Venus Anatomique.


Mauméjean has a diploma in philosophy and the science of religions, and works as a teacher in the North of France where he resides, with his wife and his daughter, Zelda. His latest work is Hour of the Dragon, a sequel to The League of Heroes.
